Unihack 2024: Fundraising Plan For A Charity
To secure sustainable funding and resources to support and expand our charity's mission of helping those in need. Choose a charity of your interest and develop a fundraising plan for them.
Scope of the Project:
1. Objective:
- Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan to achieve specific monetary goals within a set timeframe for a charity.
2. Target Audience:
- Identify potential donors including individuals, corporations, philanthropic foundations, and community organizations.
3. Fundraising Goals:
- Define both short-term and long-term fundraising targets.
- Specify the financial goals required for operational costs, specific programs, and emergency funds.
4. Strategies and Donor Management:
- Identify various fundraising methods like events, online campaigns, social media outreach, and grant applications.
- Craft a compelling narrative that explains the charity’s mission, vision, and needs.
- Develop strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and engagement.
5. Timeline:
- Create a detailed timeline from project initiation to completion of the fundraising campaigns.
- Include milestones such as major fundraising events and quarterly reviews.
6. Budget:
- Allocate resources for fundraising activities.
- Set aside a portion of the budget for marketing, events, and donor relations.
Approach for the Project:
1. Initial Research:
- Conduct a SWOT analysis to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Analyze past fundraising activities and outcomes.
2. Strategy Development:
- Develop a strategy draft from your research
- Tailor strategies to different segments of the target audience.
- Specify the type of funding sources, the amount you want to raise
- Outline a story that highlights what makes the organization special and why people would want to donate money to them.
3. Validate and Refine The Strategy:
- Develop a detailed action plan specifying tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.
What you need to submit
For Phase One, you must create an A3, PDF poster to outline your idea or project. This poster should include the following information:
- What is the problem statement
- What the idea is
- How does it solve the problem outlined in the problem statement
- How scalable is it
- What resources and timeline do you need for your idea
- How is your idea different from other solutions

What is UniHack 2024?
UniHack is a Hackathon based on providing solutions to socio-economy issues that the world is facing.

Is UniHack a global hackathon? Who can join UniHack?
Yes, UniHack 2024 is a global hackathon bringing together participants from various countries to collaborate and develop impactful ideas.
To be eligible for this hackathon you must:
- Be in a team of one to four participants
- Be a current university student or a recent graduate (6 months max)
- read and accept the terms and conditions of this hackathon
If you are found to have broken these terms and conditions, you will be forfeited from this event, and will not be eligible for any awards given.

What are the dates for UniHack?
The hackathon will be held between 8th November –29th November 2024.

Is UniHack conducted online?
Yes. The competition will be completely virtual giving you an opportunity to take part in a global competition on an international platform all from the comfort of your own home.

What are the prizes for the winners?
The eligible participants will be getting a certificate. Further prizes will be listed in the ‘Prizes’ tab of the project details page.

Is it free to participate? What do I need?
Yes - participation is entirely free. All you will need is a computer/laptop and a half-decent internet connection.

How do I join a team, or form a new one?
When registering to your chosen track, you will have 3 options:

Create a team: The platform will form a new team with you as the first member and prompt you to enter a team name. When you enter your new team’s ProjectStudio, you can enter the email IDs of other members you would like to invite to your team (you can invite any eligible person from any school). Alternatively, you may opt to open your team for other people to join in using the ‘Private/Public’ toggle.

Join a team: Join other students in an existing team (rather than forming your team) if you so prefer. This is a great way to meet new people!

Wait to be randomly assigned: Not ready to create or join a team? Select this option to join the project, and then you can either create or join a team at a later date or wait to be assigned to a team by us when the hackathon begins!

How many people can I have on my team?
You can either participate individually or form a team with up to 3 members.

Will we get help? What happens if we get stuck?
Of course. ProjectSet team members will be able to assist you throughout the hackathon process. If you get stuck, drop us an email at events@Projectset.com. We will also be hosting a drop-in help session during the hackathon to assist you with anything you need!

Can I resubmit my project after submitting it once?
Yes. You can resubmit your project anytime and as many times until the submission deadline. Your output will not be reviewed or evaluated by judges until the deadline has passed.
